The program will help you to improve your skills for playing different kind of Draw Video Poker games and different kind of Ultimate X Video Poker. You could be dealt with random hand and see what is the best discard for the hand. Or you can enter your own hand and get the optimal discard. The program works with various (and customized) payoff tables.

         In order to start using the program click at the "Start Video Poker Machine" icon (see in the end of this site).

         The program front page:

         First of all you can choose one of many games you would like to play by picking up one of drop-down list items:

         Pay attention then to the icons right to the "MultSum". By clicking at it you are switching from "Draw Poker" game (D) to "Ultimate X" 3-lines game (3X), "Ultimate X" 5-lines game (5x), "Ultimate X" 10 lines game (10X), and then back to the "Draw Poker":

         In the digital field under the "MultSum" you can change multipliers sum for the "Ultimate X": from 3 to 36 for "3X", from 5 to 60 for "5X" and from 10 to 120 for "10X".

         By clicking at any of percentage icon you are choosing one of predefined return tables. Percent value means expected percent value of the game with an according payout table. Current active percentage icon is colored. If you like you can change any payoff value by editing values in the numeric boxes labeled by combination names.

          You can get a random hand just by clicking at the "Deal" button. In order to change any card in your hand: click at any of four suite icons, click at any of card nominations and click at any of five cards in your hand. Be aware that you can setup any card in your hand in spite of the card orientation (face up or down). Click at "GO" and you will get an optimal discard and the expected value:

         Cards which are dimmed are supposed to be discarded by the optimal strategy. Expected value (percentage) appeares in the second (from the left) bottom box. If the "runner-up" discard expected value is close to the main expected value then the "runner-up" info appears in the third bottom box: expected value and the cards to be hold.

         Button "Clean" just cleans your hand and expected value boxes.

         Button "EVA" is intended for the game (not just hand) evaluation. For example if for Double Double bonus with 97.3% expected value you change the four Kind payoff value from 50 to 55 and click "EVA" you will get (in ~5 sec) 98.1% in the result box:

         There are a lot of questions on Internet about the Video Poker optimal strategy like:

• Should I keep two pairs ?

• Should I keep three deuces ?

• Should I keep the High Card ?

• etc.

Surely the answer depends of type of game, current multipliers sum (in case of "Ultimate X") and the payoff table. The poker machine on this site will provide you with answers in any kind of situation.
